Imagine what it would be like spending most of your day walking around outside. Sometimes it’s very hot and other times cold and rainy—even snowy. Now imagine the only thing between your feet and the pavement is a pair of shoes that are worn, tattered, and two sizes too small. This scenario is all too common among many of the guests of Lighthouse Ministries in downtown Lexington.

The need for shoes without holes—and clean socks for Lexington’s needy prompted Lighthouse Ministries Executive Director, Tay Henderson, to begin the Michael’s Feet ministry. Lighthouse relies on the goodwill of the community to be able to give away 20-30 pairs of shoes each month.

99.1 FM WJMM is partnering with the Lighthouse Ministries and local businesses to collect new and gently-worn shoes and new socks. You can help by dropping your donations off at one of our drop off locations during the month of August.
